The mission of The Good Neighbor Concert Series is to deliberately invest in the people of the Greater-Lansing area (and beyond), inspire those people to invest in others, and create positive ripple effects that extend farther than we could ever imagine. This series will elevate voices that would otherwise not, or seldom be heard in existing performance spaces (e.g., emerging artists, women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA, various faith perspectives, and other minority/marginalized populations). Season 1 (2024-2025) will focus specifically on highlighting Michigan’s fantastic roster of female singer/songwriters, and will draw from a combination of local talent and artists from all around the state. The series will take place at Stage One at Sycamore Creek Eastwood. It is a ticketed event that will occur roughly once a month, and be held on select Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, starting on September 17, 2024. Every event will partner with two local food-based startup businesses (Honey Bun Bakery and Sweet Lee’s Teas) to provide a variety of concession items for purchase at the event in the time between when the doors open and when the music begins. Each event will also feature a different nonprofit organization, which will receive a minimum of 10% of the proceeds from both ticket sales and concessions. The nonprofit partner organizations will also have the opportunity to table at the event so that patrons can learn more, get involved, and/or donate additional funds directly if desired.
