Michael Goy and David Cooper formed Red Nucleus in 2013. Their instrumental duets are difficult to categorize, lying at the intersection of folk, rock, American primitive, and new acoustic music. David plays the bass as a tuned percussion instrument that blends fluidly with Michael’s finger-style and alternate tunings on guitar. Melody, harmony, and rhythm are front-and-center, bathed in the shimmer of open-string guitar tunings and flowing bass lines.
