Probably Whiskey is an Appalachian and Celtic roots band founded in 2018 from Springfield, Virginia. Phil and Matt take great pride in sharing the musical traditions they have grown up learning and continue to study. Not only does their music channel their Appalachian musical heritage but it also continues the growth of these traditions with their own writings. They have given traditional tunes a fresh new sound that are both enjoyable as well as audibly fascinating. This past year Probably Whiskey was able to perform, for the third in a row, at the 26th annual Common Ground on the Hill Roots Music and Arts Festival (virtually). The Band was scheduled to play gigs and festivals in 2020 but due to covid 19 has instead been working on their first Full Length Album "Spirits". Spirits will be released mid 2021.
Tinderbox Music has said of Philips writing:
“The music rides a really nice line between Americana and Honkey Tonk country that draws the listener to focus on the story telling happening with his lyrics.”
