Lone Quail is an enigmatic singer-songwriter with raw and poignant stories about lost places, stray chases, and finding your covey. While traces of doo-wop, experimental pop, psychedelia, and even post-punk wend their way through the music at times, her core inspiration is shaped by iconic roots artists such as Townes Van Zandt, Emmylou Harris, Neil Young, Freddy Fender, and Vic Chesnutt. She also draws heavily from the pioneers of the early alt-country scene, like Cowboy Junkies, Freakwater, and Giant Sand, lending her songs a quiet edginess and subterranean power. LQ was born and raised in rural northern New England, made homes for herself all over the world, and now holes up in Santa Barbara, California.
