Gary Cavanaugh

Born in the Rocky Mountain High state of Colorado Gary has been writing and performing since the age of 15. Now 67 he is proud to have been a professional songwriter and performer for over fifty years. Gary is well known in Colorado, Wyoming , Utah and Arizona. He lived in London , England in the 70's and played his original music throughout Europe and he was signed to a publishing deal with the Mervin Conn Organization. Returning to Colorado Gary played a residency gig for 5 years at the Toll Gate Saloon and The Gilded Garter saloon in Central City Colorado as well as many clubs , restaurants and ski resorts in the Mile High State. Moving to Nashville in 2001 Gary became a staff writer with Ash Street Music. Music City afforded him the opportunity to write and perform with number one writers Gerald Smith, Stan Webb, Jimmy Payne, Bobby Keel, Wood Newton and others. Gary has also shared the stage with the Legendary Thom Bresh {son of Merle Travis}, Marc Alan Barnette , {check out the song Bamatized )Hall of Fame DJ Bill Whyte,Kimberly Dahme (bass player for the band Boston)and American idol 2020 finalist Lauren Mascitti. Gary is part of the Nashville community performing in rounds and Sunday nights at the world famous Bluebird cafe since 2004 and the Commodore lounge. His music is heard on all social media outlets and he has been number one on Reverbnation many times. Gary is very proud to have been a regularly featured writer at the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival , The Muscle Shoals Songwriters Festival, The Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival and others. One of the biggest thrills in Gary's career was playing the Opry Star spotlight radio show with Charlie Louvin, Don Wayne, CJ Watson and Tim Schumacher. The sky's the limit and Gary is always reaching out to touch the stars !!!! Carpe Diem!!!!
