Rosie Flores Live at Macum Creek Concerts

OK, let's try this again. We had Rosie Flores scheduled for a house concert here at MCC in April of 2020. Needless to say, that didn't happen. Rosie doesn't get out this way too often, so we've just been staying in touch and looking for a window of opportunity. We (finally) found one. On Saturday, May 6, iconic Texan blues/rockabilly guitar-slinging Rosie Flores visits MCC. Named as one of the 75 best female guitarists EVER), Rosie has toured with Asleep at the Wheel, and released 14 solo albums over her 40+ year career. Her latest, A Simple Case of the Blues, was released in 2019. There's no doubt this is a blues record, with a mix of songs written by Rosie (with co-writer Rachel Gladstone) and Rosie's treatment of a few blues covers - along with a Wilson Picket tune. And a Dwight Yoakam song, of course. That's Rosie. The blues runs through everything she does, but infused with country, rockabilly and the occasional Stevie Ray Vaughan-like licks on the guitar. Oh, and did we mention her other musical projects, The Talismen, and the Blue Moon Jazz Quartet? Yeah, Rosie's pretty busy these days and stunningly talented. And alot of fun to be around.
