The Princeton Folk Music Society presents an exciting mix of the old and the new with Ensemble Sangineto, an eclectic trio from northern Italy that skillfully blends ancient harmonies and sonorities with modern rhythms. The wide-ranging musical experiences of the individual members converge to create fresh and sparkling arrangements of traditional Celtic and Italian tunes, as well original compositions that reflect diverse influences, including classical, folk, pop, and Gregorian Chant. The trio blends the pure and magic tones of the harp, bowed psaltery, and guitar with their vocal harmonies to evoke a dreamlike, light, and joyful atmosphere.
