I'll never forget the first time we saw Courtney perform. We were in Austin (obviously), at the legendary Cactus Cafe for a Trishas concert (obviously). Jamie Lin Wilson got up on stage and introduced a the opener, a new artist and close friend of Jamie's, someone who had just taken life by the horns and quit her day job to pursue her dream of being a full time singer/songwriter while trying to raise two small kids on her own. That performer was Courtney Patton. We were blown away. Fast forward to the "MCC Era". Courtney and Jamie played MCC together in 2016, and Courtney returned with Jason Eady in 2019. This time, we have Courtney all to ourselves and it's gonna be a great evening. Courtney has now released five albums and is a regular on the Americana & Roots festival circuit, playing to crowds a whole lot bigger than our living room. If you've never heard Courtney's music, give it a listen. She's a brilliant writer, sings like an angel who will kick your ass if you step out of line, and she lights up every room she enters. Remind me some day to tell you about the time she just dropped by for coffee.
