On Saturday October 5, 2024, at 8pm, Westport CT’s Voices Cafe will host the powerful Kemp Harris Group. Kemp Harris brings a unique combination of blues, soul, folk and jazz which simply defies categorization. He is a singer and songwriter, and an expert weaver of American musical styles. He is an actor, activist, author, and storyteller, and an award-winning educator who has instructed young public-school students for more than 40 years. Called a “master chef” at melding American music styles, Kemp brings a powerful, intimate performance. Downbeat says Kemp’s artistry is “earthly, inspiring, haunting… sacred and profane.” Voices Cafe concerts support social justice programs in our local community, under the guidance of The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport. This concert will be held at The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport located at 10 Lyons Plains Road. The concert date is Saturday October 5th, doors open at 7:30pm, showtime is 8:00pm.
