Songwriters of the Earth - Neil Dale and Julie Grower

Neil Dale I was raised in the Middle East in a Foreign Service family. Blessed with an awareness of a larger world than our country, I have always asked questions about humanity. Trained as a geologist, I left the field as too invasive back in the 1970's and became a visual artist, making money as an antique restorer. The study of evolution has always seemed intellectually stunted to me, and about fifteen years ago I began to consider the presence of cooperation in Earth systems, and have slowly learned that what I had been taught as geology is really biology. Since then I have been writing and composing music to help spread the idea of the living Earth, and to expand my own awareness of Her. I live in Bedford, MA with my family. My songs are all creative commons, and are available on you-tube – “Neil Dale Songs” Julie Grower Julie's early musical journey took her from her small, Long Island hometown of Manhasset, NY to the college town of New Paltz, NY, where she joined several music ventures including country band "Mustang", the accapella group "Woven Tones" and pursued a solo career as a vocalist. There she participated in a musical fundraising and awareness campaign to stop pristine Lake Minnewaska from being developed by a major hotel chain. This project called "Save The Mountain" succeeded in creating a state park preserve at the site. She returned to NYC and focused her attention on songwriting, working with "Songs of Love", an organization that delivers personalized songs to ailing children . Julie is now based in Nashville, TN. She has released two full-length albums, "In a New Light" produced by Jon Gordon and "Lucky 7", which included "Hometown Hallelujah". The song, originally written to celebrate the resilience and cooperative spirit of the people of Nashville, TN in the wake of catastrophic flooding, is the theme song of the new Apple Podcast, the Voice of Free Earth, based on the novel by Michael Klein. Julie is currently working on a song-driven documentary short film titled "Who Speaks For Earth" highlighting endangered species around the world.
