8pm: TJ George is an award-winning singer/songwriter and recording artist. He has penned four solo CDs: Melodic Groove (2010), Abilene (2012), Fragmented Soul: Volume 1 (2015) and Fragmented Soul: Volume 2 (2020). He recently released Heroes and Legends (2022) which is an album boasting performances by Michael McDonald, Bill Champlin (formerly of Chicago) Bill Medley (The Righteous Brothers) all singing TJ’s songs. The proceeds of the album go to the nonprofit he founded, called Demand Impact, which raises money and awareness for drug addiction recovery programs. He has written with hit makers such as David Lasley, platinum artists such as Bill Champlin and with Hall of Fame songwriters such as Randy Goodrum. TJ was invited to perform for the national songwriter television show, Songs at the Center on PBS. He also has delivered a powerful Tedx talk, “Driven by Passion and Vulnerability,” which universally touched audiences with music and storytelling. “My music is a fusion of Pop, R&B, Folk and Blue-Eyed Soul, which creates a unique genre that I like to call Melodic Groove,” TJ says. 9:05pm: The Hail Bop Group - Troubadours and artists, with guitar & violin, playing the original music of D.A. Whiteker. A lifelong singer songwriter, his music tells dreamy stories with poetic lyrics and lyrical melodies, pulling influence from all spheres of American music: jazz, blues, rock, folk and avant-garde stylings. Influences include Bob Dylan, Kurt Vile, Tom Waits, David Berman. Currently on the road on a tour that will take them across the country, they are sharing their music with us here in Phoenix! Hail Bop also has original art that they sell while they are on the road, in addition to their band merchandise - CRASS CRAFTS - Handmade fiber art and fine art prints, including decorative embroidery hoops, patches, pins, stickers and more! Doors open at 7:30pm. $10 admission, beverages are $1. KN95 / N95 masks are required to be worn properly while inside, and are available at the venue. We offer seriously strong brewed coffee, a variety of teas, Boxed Water, sodas, and sometimes cocoa! We remain open to live events while keeping the safety of our performers, volunteers, and audience in mind. We sometimes have one of the doors slightly open to improve ventilation and fresh air flow, so dress for the desert evening climate (we do try to keep it relatively comfortable inside)!
