Three Bluegrass Masters Reunite! Rainshadow Recording welcomes Luquett, Dumas and Knapp, Friday December 2 at 7:30pm at The Palindrome at Eaglemount Cidery, 1893 S. Jacob Miller Rd.  Chris, Nick and Andrew return to Port Townsend in a reprise of their stellar 2019 performance at Rainshadow Recording. Series sponsor is Strait Floors. Media sponsor for this series is KPTZ-FM radio. About Chris Luquette: Chris is one of the hardest working musicians originally from the Seattle music scene. Now living in Brooklyn-New York, you’d be hard pressed to find another musician in their 20’s seamlessly switching from International Music to Jazz and from Rock to Bluegrass so comfortably. He has even studied Brazilian Jazz with Seattle based legendary Brazilian Musician, Jovino Santos Neto. Chris’s musicianship reflects the multitude of musical influences he turns to for inspiration. His acoustic guitar playing really stands out, but this virtuosic, multi-instrumentalist is equally at home playing mandolin, drums, bass, electric guitar, banjo, and Greek bouzouki. Chris was a founding member of Seattle based band Northern Departure, and has found himself performing onstage with the likes of Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris, Bryan Sutton, Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley, The Steep Canyon Rangers, Kenny and Amanda Smith, The Boxcars, Yogi and The Yogini’s and many others.” – From dirtykitchenband.com Nick Dumas (Northern Departure, North Country Bluegrass, Special Consensus) Nick grew up in Brier, Washington, and was introduced to bluegrass music at a very young age by his dobro-playing grandfather. He often listened to his grandfather’s country gospel band rehearse and was so inspired by the fiddle player that he started learning to play the violin in his school orchestra class when he was 12 years old. Nick soon began taking private fiddle lessons and then joined the family band The Three Generations, formed by his grandfather, his mother and his aunt. After learning to play mandolin, guitar and banjo and to sing lead and harmony vocals, Nick became a co-founder of the popular Northwest-based bluegrass band Northern Departure. He soon became known as a highly respected mandolin player and singer in the region and co-founded another very popular bluegrass band called North Country Bluegrass, touring both regionally and nationally. In 2015, Nick was pleased to relocate to become the new Special Consensus mandolin player. He made his Special C recording debut on the 2016 Compass Records band release “Long I Ride,” which received the 2016 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year Award for the tune “Fireball.” Nick also appeared on the 2018 Compass Records band release “Rivers And Roads” that won two IBMA awards (one for Album of the Year) and a GRAMMY nomination for Best Bluegrass Album. ANDREW KNAPP (The Warren G. Hardings) The Warren G. Hardings are a modern bluegrass group who grew up following the lead of the founding fathers of the progressive grass movement. Calling themselves a dance stringband, they play a high-energy style based on original music written within the group. They have been a fixture at area festivals, including Northwest String Summit, North Cascades Bluegrass, Steamboat Stringband Jamboree, Bluegrass from the Forest, Sacajawea Bluegrass, and Bridgetown Bluegrass, and the Wintergrass International Music Festival.
