Twelve time winner of Canada's prestigious Maple Blues Award across multiple categories, two time winner of the Canadian Folk Music Awards, and three time Juno Award nominee (Junos are the Canadian version of our Grammies) Suzie Vinnick makes her third live visit to MCC (and her first since 2018). Suzie has no connection at all to Texas, but the first time we saw her live (at Concerts at the Old Cooper House), she put the exclamation point on what live acoustic blues is supposed to sound like. Suzie's latest record, Fall Back Home, released in the fall of 2022, is a compelling 11-song collection of solo compositions, co-writes, and carefully curated outside material. Suzie's 7th solo record, Fall Back Home defies easy stylistic categorization. She is equally at ease in the blues, folk, and roots worlds, and elements of gospel and rockabilly are also present here. And, if history repeats itself, you might get to experience the impromptu "Macum Creek Concerts Choir" that usually pops us when Suzie is in town.
