Please join us Saturday, 03-June, as we welcome Kate Mills back to our house. Those of you that were here to see Carrie Welling last summer got to see Kate perform with Carrie and a solo or two of her own. Kate’s music and personality were enjoyed by so many at the show she is returning for a solo performance. Our shows are open invite, so please feel free to bring a friend or two – just let us know how many are coming so we can plan appropriately. As always, we will provide some food and non-alcoholic drinks, but please feel free to BYOB and, if you choose, an appetizer or dessert to share. An Introduction to Kate Mills: Kate was born and grew up in Philly. She caught the performance bug early on, and, by age 9, was entrancing audiences in theater performances. Her debut was in front of 900 people as “Gretel” in The Sound Of Music. Kate went onto to enjoy multiple musical theater opportunities, including appearing alongside Debbie Gibson at the Merriam Theater in Philadelphia, and a performance at the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Music of Kate Mills is like taking a drive with Dan Fogelberg, Brandi Carlile, Linda Rondstadt, and Grace Potter through Southern California. Kate is a storyteller whose lyrics and emotional perspective are uniquely informed by schooling and a career in social work. “Many of the things I loved about social work are also why I love music,” she says. “In both, it’s about creating a space where it's okay to feel whatever we're feeling; a space for us to acknowledge and embrace our whole selves, even the parts that are challenging. Both create connection. All donations, merchandise sales, and tips go 100% to the artists to keep them making great music! Please let us know if you’re coming so we have an idea on the number of guests to expect. Light food provided, feel free to bring something to share if you would like to. BYOB. June, as any day in PA, can be pretty unpredictable. Our goal is to have the show outdoors if weather allows so please bring your favorite lawn chair. We’ll be firing up the fire pit after the show so please feel free to stick around. If the weather doesn't cooperate we'll be setting up indoors.
