Heart Hunters' new record, American Eclipse was produced by Peter Case (The Plimsouls, The Nerves, Dead Rock West) and was released in July 2018. The record’s alternately haunting and wistful folk songs find Drew de Man and Brianna Blackbird engaging in potent social and spiritual commentary, clinging to silver linings while wrestling with an increasingly turbulent country. But while the subject matter is often heavy, the duo’s hook-laden melodicism offers all the balance the record needs.
The couple harmonize gorgeously and during live shows, switching between upright bass, guitar and pedal steel, they crank out more music than you might expect from a duo. They also tell great stories and do a lot of rabble-rousing.
They've shared the stage with Birds of Chicago, Rising Appalachia, Lilly Winwood and others.
