“With one guitar and one fiddle, the duo generates marvelous close harmony. The vibe is infectious enough to be investigated by the CDC; anyone who doesn’t grin during the set must be immune to pleasure.”
— Suzanne Cadgéne, Elmore Magazine

Pushing Chain is Boyd Blomberg on guitar and vocals and Adam Moe on fiddle and vocals. They have been playing together for 20 years, and their 2018 release Sorrows Always Swim is their third album together.
Both Boyd and Adam call Northern Minnesota home. Boyd lives in a small cabin in Lutsen on the shores of Lake Superior, and Adam resides in Duluth, about 90 miles away on the shore of the same lake. Pushing Chain usually travels as a duo, playing original roots and Americana music that features tight harmonies, soulful playing, and a gonzo approach that keeps people coming back for more.
Pushing Chain believes in strong harmonies, kazoos and laughter, sad songs, and that good music will make strangers share a table.
