Philly-based Tracy Colletto has garnered comparisons to Jonatha Brooke and Joni Mitchell for her songwriting and vocal style. Her sophomore album, Chocolate Happy Cake, shares a personal journey of transformation and soulful perseverance.
Previously, the singer, songwriter, and keyboardist earned an “Honorable Mention” in the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest, and was voted by listeners into the Top 20 Indie Songs of Women of Substance Radio & Podcast. She’s been nominated for Best Alt. Country Song at the 15th Annual Independent Music Awards, and nominated for "Best Indie Female Artist" by Radio-Wigwam in the UK out of thousands of other contestants. Early praise for Chocolate Happy Cake includes the singles “It’s Over,” “Complete Peace” and "Stay" being voted into the Top 20 Indie Songs, and the album garnering global radio station rotation, including terrestrial stations WXPN (Sleepy Hollow) and WSTW (Hometown Heroes). Other recent accolades include being a finalist in the 2017 Musikarmageddon Solo competition; being selected to attend Judy Stakee’s "It All Starts With a Song" Songwriting retreat and being “First Runner Up” at the Triad Music Fest Songwriter Standoff.
Chocolate Happy Cake is produced by Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Glenn Barratt (Melody Gardot, Jill Scott, Elton John, Diana Ross). Glenn assembled the lineup of musicians, including Michael G Ronstadt (of Ronstadt Generations), well-known Philly bass player Chico Huff, and Erik Johnson and Kevin Hansen, both formerly of the charting modern rock band, Huffamoose (“Wait”). The entire cast performed with sensitive intuition, respecting Tracy’s vision for the album, and providing delicate and emotionally dynamic musical support.
