Dana Cooper started his devotion to music at just age 2. Since then this Kansas City native has logged millions of miles as a renowned songwriter & storyteller.  This song poet engages and inspires audiences around the world with his quick wit, insightful stories & lyrics. Dana's mixture of flat-picking, finger picking, and percussive strumming is "Legend Among Other Guitarists."  His harmonica playing equally impressive. As one critic noted, "he sings like an angel and plays like the devil."

Danas 1st self-titled Release was on Elektra Records in the 70's. His studio band consisting of "The Session" with legendary players Leland Sklar & Russ Kunkel. Since then he has worked with Lyle Lovett, Kim Carnes, Tom Kimmel, Pat Alger, Hal Ketchum and Kim Richey to name a few. It is no surprise his discography measures at 30 albums and collections.

Dana also charted on 2 Best of Folk Year End Charts.

"Few artists can claim to make music for 50 years and still do so with the same eagerness and enthusiasm that marked their initial efforts. Dana Cooper experienced the mechanisms of the major labels early on, but as a solo independent artist, he’s maintained a full flourish on his own. His new album, I Can Face the Truth, includes songs such as “Always Old Friends,” “Upside Down Day,”“Laughing and Crying,” “Summer In America,” and the title tune which are flush with an upbeat optimism that makes every offering genuinely striking in both sentiment and execution. So too, Cooper’s cover of the Hank Williams classic “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” further reflects his ability to consistently ply a tasteful touch. Coproduced by Cooper and veteran multi-instrumentalist Dave Coleman, I Can Face the Truth is an unmitigated triumph, an album that should finally garner Cooper the credit he so decidedly deserves."
